 The French géo or the English geo+, which occurs only in compounds, is a quote from the word "earth, ground, earth, earth". This word is derived from the Ancient Greek word gē or gaía γη/γαία z, which means the same thing. So Geo, our crown actually gets its name from the earth. So why?
